We think globally and act locally
Renewable energy projects generate additional value for municipalities and local communities.
Energy transformation starts with people
Participation, involvement, and local understanding are of paramount importance to us. We want communities to be involved at every stage of the development of a renewable energy project.
We listen
We know that the voice of the local community is essential in all our projects. For this reason, we are always keen to listen to the needs of communities and address any concerns about living near such installations.
We inform
Transparency and reliability are values embedded in our DNA. From planning to implementation of our projects, we provide true, clear, and reliable information to all our stakeholders.
We cooperate
A strong network of partnerships is key to promoting a more sustainable future. We offer a range of benefits to the municipalities where we implement our projects.
Renewable energy projects: Benefits for people and nature
Our approach focuses on working together to develop renewable energy projects that not only meet current needs, but are also sustainable in the long term. We contribute to the economic, social, and environmental development of a region.
Added value for local communities
By leasing their land, residents contribute to climate protection while securing a reliable source of income. We lease suitable plots of land for PV, wind, and energy storage projects, and for associated infrastructure (e.g. cable routes). Each offers a high income from the lease agreement for 30 years.
In the case of a wind farm, residents have the opportunity to participate in the project and benefit financially from it. In Poland, a programme is being implemented in which residents can purchase a share of the installed capacity of a wind power plant and benefit in real terms from the sale of green energy.
Added value for nature
We plan our wind and PV farms with respect for the environment. Before the construction of all our projects, we talk to the local community and analyse every potential impact of the investment and its infrastructure in the area.
Each potential wind project location is monitored in detail before the project is implemented, to protect birds and bats. BayWa r.e. cooperates with independent experts; ornithologists and chiropterologists, whose findings are verified by the relevant administrative authorities, such as the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection.
After the wind farm is built, post-implementation monitoring is carried out. In order to take care of the environment and bird numbers, various detection and reaction methods (light and sound technologies) are also used.
