BayWa r.e. Polska sp. z o.o. took part in the nationwide Flower, Fruit, and Vegetable Event in Skierniewice on 10 and 11 September 2022. This year's edition of the event was also accompanied by the Energy Days, a combination of a trade fair and a conference dedicated to Renewable Energy Sources.
The event has been organized since 1977 by the Municipality of Skierniewice in cooperation with the Institute of Horticulture. During the celebrations, the Horticultural-Agricultural Fair was held. Visitors experienced a lot of attractions, among others obtaining information on the cultivation of vegetables, fruit, and flowers, purchasing publications on vegetable, horticultural, and fruit growing, as well as seeds, vegetable, and ornamental plant seedlings and gardening equipment. Agriculture is one of the sectors that strongly recognizes the need for energy transition and renewable energy sources, hence the idea of combining the event with a trade fair dedicated to renewables.
Skierniewice Energy Days 2022 combined an exhibition and an expert panel. BayWa r.e. Poland was represented by Magdalena Mosio - Greenfield Project Developer and Agri-PV expert, who explained the possibilities for the Agri-PV applications in Poland during the conference. The availability of agricultural land, including widely developed horticulture, and the simultaneous need to protect crops from strong weather conditions are ideal reasons for the development of Agri-PV projects over the plants or interspace PV in our country. The BayWa r.e. Polska sp. z o.o. booth was visited in large numbers by the inhabitants of the Skierniewice municipality, which is famous for its numerous apple, pear, and plum orchards.
